Patterns of Decay

How much of life goes by beneath our fingers?  Bumps and crags on concrete, the slight ripple in your favorite glass, the frayed edges of your favorite blanket, texture is all around us every day.  It's something we often take for granted, but when we set our focus upon it, sometimes we see a whole different world open up to us.

This happened to me when I was scouting an abandoned building for an upcoming photo shoot.  At first, all I could see was the decay and rubble.  After a while, I began to see the texture and patterns left in the wake of Father Time and Mother Nature and the beauty of the structure began to emerge.

I hope you enjoy, "Patterns of Decay".
